Thuringian Economics Minister Colette Boos-John visits KOMOS

Bürgel, November 2025

A visit from Erfurt: Thuringia’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Areas, Colette Boos-John, visited our company. Not for a quick photo opportunity, but for a real exchange. We spent several hours discussing issues that are currently occupying us intensively.

How do we shape the future in concrete terms?

The focus was on the big strategic questions: How do we realign our business models when markets change fundamentally? How do we manage to think beyond our established value chains? And what new forms of networking do we need to open up new business areas?

„These are not theoretical questions for us,“ explains Managing Director Antje Blumentritt. „We notice every day that the traditional structures — supplier here, customer there — no longer work the way they used to. We need different ways of thinking, bolder steps, new forms of cooperation. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary.“

What made the visit special: The openness of the discussions. Ms. Boos-John listened, asked questions and understood the real challenges we face as a manufacturing SME. It is precisely such discussions between politics and business that are important if transformation is to succeed.

For us at KOMOS, the exchange was a valuable stimulus. The questions remain, the work continues — but with new perspectives.
