Increasing efficiency without large investments: How transparency and AI are changing production

On April 14, 2026, KOMOS GmbH will be part of the production days in Erfurt. Steffen Tetzlaff, plant manager at KOMOS, will show in his presentation how companies unlock efficiency potential – without having to immediately invest in new machines.

Transparency as the foundation for efficient production

At KOMOS, the starting situation was the same as in many production companies: data existed – but was not usable. Decisions were based on experience; problems were detected too late; processes remained opaque.

The KOMOS app has been designed specifically as a digital workplace platform for this purpose. Since then, consistent transparency has been created regarding:

  • Quality data and testing processes
  • Tool and equipment conditions
  • Material flows and stocks
  • Production and decision-making processes

The result: Deadlocks are predictable, quality is immediately visible, and decisions are faster and more informed.

The next step: From visibility to predictability

Based on this transparency, KOMOS is taking a crucial step forward. With Centrum AI, data is not only evaluated but actively used to control production and supply chain processes.

Specific use cases:

  • Detection of supply and material shortages before they affect production
  • Stabilization of material flows despite fluctuating availability
  • Forecast of capacity requirements for informed investment decisions
  • Reduction of voting effort in complex supplier structures

This transforms transparency into real value creation.

Practical report from the plant

The presentation is based on concrete experiences from production at KOMOS and shows:

  • How to realize efficiency potential without large investments
  • What role do data discipline and system logic play?
  • Why technology alone is not enough
  • and how employees are actively involved in the transformation
