KOMOS at the Jena company run 2026: Eight starters from Bürgel and one world championship participant on the team

May 25, 2026

At the 15th Jena Company Run 2026, KOMOS from Bürgel had eight female runners on the start – including a national team athlete in judo. A report about an evening where the pace did not mean the same for everyone.

3,600 female runners and male runners, over 250 companies, a route through the paradise of Jena to the Ernst-Abbe Sports Field: The Jena Corporate Run 2026 was once again the largest sports event for companies in Thuringia. Among them: KOMOS, a family business from Bürgel, with an eight-member team on the course and three helpers in the background.

KOMOS sent out the following riders on the course:

  • Caroline Giesemann
  • Felix Giesemann
  • Daniel Hutfilz
  • Jonas Kehr
  • Ralf Hartmann
  • Simone Wlotzka
  • Nicolle Reißner
  • Antje Blumentritt

In backup mode at start and finish: Doreen Becker, Thomas Woltmann and Karsten Blumentritt. Notable: Both directors of KOMOS were present at the company run in Jena – one on the course, the other as a supporter.

Top sportsmanship in a team: Jonas Kehr in the Ju-Jutsu national team

Honestly: Not everyone was satisfied with their time in the company run in 2026. Jonas Kehr was the least satisfied – which might be worth explaining.

Jonas has been doing Ju-Jutsu, a mix of Karate and Judo, since 2012 and has been a member of the team since 2023. Federal team. His biggest successes so far:

  • 6th place at the 2024 World Championships
  • Bronze at the German Open

When someone like him grumbles after a company run, it’s not about the pace of others; it’s about their own standards, which hardly anyone in the team can understand. For the rest of the KOMOS team, it was: It was full on the course, strenuous, and above all, an evening with atmosphere – and in the end, everyone was at the finish line. That was exactly the plan.

What the Jena company race has to say about KOMOS:

A company run is not a competition, but an appointment: We do it together, even though none of us is on the national team. The fact that a managing director, a World Championship participant, and six colleagues from different fields start together on one evening in Jena – and a second managing director supports them from behind – says more about the culture at KOMOS than any set of guidelines.

As a family business in its second generation with around 70 employees in Bürgel, KOMOS combines punching, turning and plastic technology under one roof – and sees events like the Jena Corporate Run 2026 as what they are: a good opportunity to be together outdoors.

Thanks to the organizers of the company run and to everyone who ran, cheered and helped along the way. 2027 again.
